IMPORTANT: Although you may see “16 Route 33” or as an address for the park, there is no address that works reliably for all mapping or navigation systems. Google works correctly if given 20 NJ-33 Business, Manalapan Township and TomTom gets it close to the entrance, but MapQuest does not. You can navigate to 100 Wemrock Road, which is the address for Wemrock Orchards and should bring you to the intersection of Route 33 and Wemrock Road. Then you need to follow Route 33 West for another 1/4 mile to see the park entrance on your right.
Your GPS may take you to the correct location if given 16 Route 33, Manalapan or 20 NJ-33 Business, Manalapan Township but do not rely on entering “Monmouth Battlefield” as a point-of-interest as it may take you to an office on Route 522 (Englishtown-Freehold Road), on the north side of the park. If you get to that point:
- Don’t panic.
- Turn around and head east to Wemrock Road, then turn right.
- Head south on Wemrock Road, then turn right at the lights and go west on Business Rte 33.
- Follow Rte 33 west for 1/4 mile, and you’ll see the park entrance on your right.

Meeting Point
We meet in the main parking lot, which is about half a mile from the park entrance. Meet near the Visitors’ Center building.
Note that there may be other activities going on in the parking lot, and in particular if you’re there on a reasonably warm Wednesday and you notice a group of senior men in lawn chairs you’re welcome to offer us coffee.
Directions
From Rte 9 north or south:
- Head towards Freehold Raceway, then take BUSINESS Route 33 WEST, towards Trenton.
- After 1.25 miles go straight across the lights at Wemrock Road (the Wemrock Orchards farm shop will be on your left as you cross the intersection).
- Continue for another 1/4 mile on Route 33 west and you’ll see the Monmouth Battlefield park entrance on the right.
- Turn into the park and drive about half a mile to the main parking lot.
