Monmouth County Park System’s (MCPS) Senior Hikers program offers a weekly walk and conversation along the trails of the county’s many parks with an active group of seniors. You can choose the hike level that suits you when you register for a session.
This site is maintained voluntarily for the benefit of registered hikers, not by the MCPS. It is not an official MCPS site.
NOTE: To join a hike you must register for the program for a whole season. Please understand that you cannot just show up at a hike to join a group. To find and register for a Senior Hikers season:
- Go to the official MCPS registration site.
- Under the “Program Type” menu choose “Adults”.
- Then select only “Adults – Active Adults 55+” and click the “Search” button.
- Then scroll through the Results to find the various “Senior Hikers” programs.
- Read the descriptions, and choose the program that’s most suitable for you.
Click here for the current season’s schedule – hikes generally start at 9:30 AM, though some groups start earlier in the summer to avoid the heat. Check the schedule carefully to be sure!
Call 732-842-4000 ext 6 on the morning of your hike to check for weather cancellations.
