If you use a calendar app such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook to manage your schedule, you can download your group’s hiking schedule and import it.
On a computer:
- One the Hike Schedule page, click your group’s button to show your hike schedule for the season.
- Click the Download for Calendar link. That should download a file with a name that starts with mcps-hike-something.ics. This type of file is known as an iCalendar file, and it can be imported by several well-known calendar apps.
- If you’re a hike leader, click the calendar icon to the left of your name at the top of the schedule. That will show you a calendar for all your hikes, and from there you can download a single iCalendar file to import.
There are several ways to import the schedule, depending on your computer and your calendar app – for example:
- You may be able to double-click the downloaded file.
- You might be able to right-click it, choose “Open with…”, and select your calendar app from a list.
- Your calendar app may have an Import option, possibly under the File or Settings menu.
If you use Google Calendar in a web browser such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:
- Open your Google Calendar.
- Click the settings (gear) icon, and then choose Settings.
- Click Import and export in the left-hand panel.
- Choose the file you downloaded, and then click Import.
- Return to the calendar, and you should now (or very soon) see your hike schedule.
