{"id":974,"date":"2023-04-05T13:27:54","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T17:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whereshouldibe.com\/groups\/mcps-senior-hikers\/?page_id=974"},"modified":"2023-04-08T12:27:04","modified_gmt":"2023-04-08T16:27:04","slug":"import-calendar","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/whereshouldibe.com\/groups\/mcps-senior-hikers\/import-calendar\/","title":{"rendered":"Adding Your Hike Schedule to a Calendar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you use a calendar app such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook to manage your schedule, you can download your group&#8217;s hiking schedule and import it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a computer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One the <a href=\"https:\/\/whereshouldibe.com\/groups\/mcps-senior-hikers\/hike-schedule\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"27\">Hike Schedule page<\/a>, click your group&#8217;s button to show your hike schedule for the season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <em>Download for Calendar<\/em> link. That should download a file with a name that starts with <em>mcps-hike-something.ics<\/em>. This type of file is known as an <em>iCalendar<\/em> file, and it can be imported by several well-known calendar apps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you&#8217;re a hike leader, click the calendar icon to the left of your name at the top of the schedule. That will show you a calendar for all your hikes, and from there you can download a single iCalendar file to import. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several ways to import the schedule, depending on your computer and your calendar app &#8211; for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may be able to double-click the downloaded file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You might be able to right-click it, choose &#8220;Open with&#8230;&#8221;, and select your calendar app from a list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your calendar app may have an Import option, possibly under the <em>File <\/em>or <em>Settings <\/em>menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use Google Calendar in a web browser such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open your Google Calendar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the settings (gear) icon, and then choose Settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <em>Import and export<\/em> in the left-hand panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the file you downloaded, and then click Import.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return to the calendar, and you should now (or very soon) see your hike schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you use a calendar app such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook to manage your schedule, you can download your group&#8217;s hiking schedule and import it.
